For eight hours, non-stop, Cheddar will be 100 percent women in the anchor seats and as guests

On Thursday, February 8, Cheddar will launch #chedHER with a special day of news, information and commentary highlighting women in business, tech, entertainment, politics, science, the media and sports. The entire day’s programming schedule, including anchors and guests, will be 100% female on #chedHER.

This is a critical time for women in the United States and around the world with women rallying to bring positive change to the workplace and to halls of justice and government.

“#chedHER is a day dedicated to advancing the conversation” said Anjali Kumar, Chief People Officer and General Counsel at Cheddar. “Ultimately, we hope that using our platform for this event inspires people to see change is happening and sparks them to take actions that result in real change across all industries.”

Over the course of the eight hours, Cheddar’s female anchors; Hope King, Jill Wagner, Kristen Scholer, and Alyssa Julya Smith, will be joined by women co-hosts from the worlds of business, politics and the media, including Kristin Lemkau, CMO of JP Morgan Chase, Elaine Paul, CFO of Hulu, Rep. Barbara Lee of California, and soccer star Hope Solo.

These are women who understand how to make things happen and know what is necessary to bring change to Washington, to corporate boardrooms, to playing fields and to movie sets.

Individually and together, they will discuss successes and challenges in their fields, where change is happening, who’s making those changes happen and what needs to happen next.

“The best part of working at an independent news network, is that we get to do things like this. We can push the envelope,” said Melissa Rosenthal, EVP at Cheddar. “We are proud to celebrate women in business across multiple industries and have the first broadcast of it’s kind on a post-cable news network.”

Cheddar wants everyone to join #chedHER. The conversation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday and will be available on all of Cheddar’s platforms, including:

  • Sling TV
  • Layer3 TV (ch. 147)
  • Comcast X1 (just say “Cheddar”)
  • Twitch (twitch.tv/cheddar)
  • Twitter
  • Pluto TV (ch. 112)
  • Philo
  • TuneIn
  • Amazon Channels
  • Cheddar.com and its apps.

Even after the broadcast day ends, Cheddar hopes the conversation will continue around the hashtags #chedHER and #YesIWill. And although #chedHER’s focus is exclusively on women, we know that this conversation must be one with women and men. Cheddar will continue it with both.
